CEEC-undertaken Bash Wind Farm of Bukhara Wind Power Project in Uzbekistan Fully Operational

The Bash Wind Farm of the Bukhara Wind Power Project in Uzbekistan successfully achieved a full capacity of 500 MW grid connection on January 16, local time.

 

The successful grid connection represents a major advancement in the project's progress and provides a strong boost to Uzbekistan's green energy development.

 

The project was co-built by CEEC subsidiaries, namely, China Energy International Group Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Co., Ltd., CPECC North China Power Engineering Co., Ltd., and CPECC International Engineering Co., Ltd.

 

 

The project team meticulously planned and collaborated with key stakeholders, including project owner ACWA Power and National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan (NEGU), to ensure the seamless development and execution of the full-capacity grid connection strategy.

 

Throughout the process, on-site operators strictly followed established protocols, showcasing high efficiency and standardized operations. The project has demonstrated outstanding performance metrics, stable parameters, and smooth grid-connected operations of wind turbines.

 

Looking ahead, the project team will maintain a disciplined and practical approach to ensure the timely and efficient completion of subsequent phases.

 

Situated in the southern region of the Kyzylkum Desert in Uzbekistan, the 1 GW Bukhara Wind Power Project is the largest of its kind currently under construction in Central Asia.

 

Comprising the Bash Wind Farm and the Dzhankeldy Wind Farm, each with a capacity of 500 MW, the project is projected to generate around 3.59 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually upon full operation, leading to a reduction of approximately 1.6 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. This will significantly bolster the region's power supply capabilities, optimize its power structure, and play a crucial role in facilitating Uzbekistan's transition to a more sustainable energy future.
