On August 4, China Energy Engineering GroupGuangdong Power Engineering completed the installation of the world's first 18-20 MW storage and load grid integrated offshore wind turbine unit at the wind power coastal test base in Shantou, Guangdong Province.
The first"two-in-one" crawler crane SCC52000TM (a 2000-ton + 1600-ton modified combination)in China which is developed in-house by Guangdong Power Engineering is adoptedas the main crane for wind turbine installation, and a 260-ton crawler crane is used as an auxiliary crane for wind turbine installation collaborative operation.
The 18-20 MWstorageload-grid unit usesthe mature offshore semi-direct drive technology route, witha remote one-button black start function, meetingthe system recovery requirements under special working conditions. It canrealize the "one storagewith one unit" distributed energy storage configuration, and the peak load regulation capacity of the power grid; it is also equipped with the latest grid-building wind turbine technology developed by Electric Wind Power, forthe development of wind farms under local weak power grids, withmore friendly grid adaptability, providing greatsupport for the future offshore wind power utilization in weak power grid power supply for remote islands, distributed sea wind hydrogen production, flexible direct current transmission, low-frequencypowertransmission, and floating wind turbines.
The annual power generation of a single 18 MW wind turbine unit can reach 72 million kWh, equivalent toreduction ofcoal consumption by nearly 25,000 tons and carbon dioxide emission by nearly 60,000 tons, more than 60% higher than the annual power generation of a single 11 MW model currently installed.
